In the 3 years that I have served here at Shining Rock, I have found Katy Ridnouer to be a key resource in the development of our board and in processing administrative situations as they arise. 


With regards to board development, Mrs. Ridnouer has excelled in demonstrating an ability to connect with members across the spectrum of experiences and increasing the group effectiveness.  When our board was struggling in what I consider the natural evolution of growth in a charter school, Mrs. Ridnouer provided our school with a menu of strategies to address the short-term challenges while installing a sustainable solution.  Mrs. Ridnouer’s leadership has increased the capacity of the Shining Rock board by developing a strategic vision, assisting in the development of clear roles, and creating a bank of on-boarding resources for new members to maximize their effectiveness as soon as possible.

Additionally, Mrs. Ridnouer has the experience to serve as a trusted and valuable sounding board for myself in handling administrative challenges that occur in the role of leading a charter school.  My administrative role is much like that of other charter school leaders in that there are multiple groups of people who need to be managed both internally and externally.  Ironically, with such a public position, there are very few resources to confide and strategize the challenges that arise.  The experience that Mrs. Ridnouer brings in handling a wide range of issues along with the poise and confidence in seeking solutions has made her an invaluable resource for me personally.  I am especially appreciative of Mrs. Ridnouer’s ability and willingness to help do some of the heavy lifting when it comes to applying solutions for the good of our organization."
